Founded in 1911, the US Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization, advocating for and recognizing driven businesses that take on societal challenges. The organization presents two awards acknowledging members of Congress who exemplify bipartisan leadership and necessary constructive governing: the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award and the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship.
Established at the beginning of the 116th Congress, the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award encourages members from both parties to cosponsor legislation that benefits the business community. The awards are presented to members of the House and the Senate.
The Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship acknowledges members of Congress who have shown a willingness to work with people of opposing views in support of common objectives. The ranking for this award is based on the number of bills cosponsored by a member that the opposite party has introduced.
